Wedge wire filters are a key component in modern filtration technology, particularly suitable for aqueous, viscous, highly viscous and pasty media. Their efficiency and reliability make them a preferred choice for various industrial applications. A key feature of these filters is mechanical forced cleaning using flexible stainless steel or plastic scraper plates. This design ensures continuous cleaning of the filter elements without interrupting the flow process. This mode of operation allows the filtration process to continue during cleaning and dirt removal, which minimizes downtime. Slot tube filter are characterized by low medium loss during dirt discharge, which makes them particularly economically attractive. The minimized loss of valuable media during the cleaning process contributes to cost efficiency. In addition, the long service life of the filter elements ensures low operating costs, as replacement or maintenance work is required less frequently. The simple operation and maintenance of these filters are further advantages. Their design enables easy maintenance and cleaning without special tools, which not only reduces maintenance costs but also increases user-friendliness and operational safety.All self-cleaning filters in the DELTA-STRAIN series are available for use in EX zones 1 and 2 (group II, category 2G or 3G) in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. The certification and issuing of the EC certificate was carried out by TÜV Product Service GmbH.

The functional principle of the wedge wire filter

en – The contaminated medium flows through the metallic, cylindrical filter element from the outside to the inside. Dirt particles that are larger than the gaps in the filter element are deposited on the surface. These impurities are scraped off by the scraper plate when the filter element is turned and collect in the filter sump. There they are discharged from the filter housing at intervals via a manual or automatic fitting (with a low medium content). Cleaning and dirt removal take place without interrupting the flow. This enables continuous use of our self-cleaning filters. Laser-drilled or perforated special elements are available for gel-like and fibrous contaminants. These were developed in particular for applications where conventional canned tubes cannot be used, e.g. for the filtration of gel-like particles, algae, fibers, etc.
