Functionality & applications of wedge wire filters

In wedge wire filters, the contaminated medium flows from the outside to the inside through the cylindrical filter element. Particles larger than the gaps in the filter settle on the surface. These are removed by rotating the filter element and using flexible scraper blades – a typical feature of modern rotary and automatic filters. The separated dirt accumulates in the filter sump and is regularly discharged through a manual or automatic valve, with minimal loss of medium.

For particularly demanding applications, such as the filtration of gel-like or fibrous contaminants (e.g. algae, fibers, gel-like particles), special filter elements are available. Laser-drilled or perforated elements ensure reliable and efficient liquid filtration even with challenging media.

Our filtration systems offer:

flow rates up to 250 m³/h (based on clean water)
nominal filter fineness from 25 µm to 8000 µm
versions made of stainless steel or coated carbon steel
motorized or manual drive, also ATEX-compliant according to Directive 2014/34/EU
